Admission Requirements
Applicants must have:
- A Bachelor's degree (minimum 180 ECTS)
- At least 135 ECTS completed if applying before graduation
The previous degree should normally be in:
- Data Science
- Computer Science
- Statistics
- Mathematics
- Related quantitative disciplines
Applicants must demonstrate at least 60 ECTS in Data Science fundamentals.
These typically include coursework in:
- Mathematics
- Statistics
- Computer Science
Applicants lacking up to 15 ECTS may be admitted with the requirement to complete these during the Master's programme.
English Language Requirement
Applicants must provide one of the following:

- English B2 (CEFR) plus
- German language proficiency equivalent to DSH-2
Official proof of language proficiency is required.
GRE Requirement
GRE is NOT required.
However, beginning with the Summer Semester 2027 intake, applicants are encouraged to submit a dMAT Data Science score. It is recommended but not mandatory, and a good score can strengthen an application in the competitive selection process.
Aptitude Test (Important)
Non-EU Applicants
All non-EU applicants must complete an online aptitude test.
The test covers:
- Mathematics
- Statistics
- Computer Science

- Conducted online
- Approximately 40 minutes
- Invitation sent by email after the application deadline
- Forms part of the admission ranking
Applicants shortlisted after the aptitude test are invited to an online interview (video conference). Both the aptitude test and interview are part of the selection process.
